i mean just use the longer breaks as your pomodoro breaks and that works, i don't see why would you need more, i think not having too manything on the app and keeping it simpl is also really important
Exactly. The app is already essentially natively pomodoro, I am using it instead of pomodoro at this point, don't understand how would even pomodoro integration differentiate the thing without making the ux super confusing
I'm thinking about how I can use LookAway as is for Pomodoro. I think the only feature missing is that when you're on a Pomodoro session, there's no pause - I don't want it to reset when I'm in an active session. My current workaround is to disable the pause and set the reset at 25min. However, this is not ideal, I would like proper smart pause when I'm not in Focus/Pomodoro mode.
yes please! fewer apps means fewer failure points, and lookaway is the only break tool i trust to keep me honest. adding pomodoro would turn it into a complete, gentle focus loop.
The first thing I wanted to do after installing 2.0 was figure out how I could use LookAway as a Pomodoro timer. I know it's a different idea, but the concepts are closely related. - LookAway keeps track of what you do during your breaks - A pomodoro timer keeps track of what you do during work I could see a Pomodoro mode that could stay deactivated for those who aren't interested. For me, if my pomodoro timer could have mid-block eye rests etc it might help me stay healthy and also keep track of time. Maybe it's a 3.0 thing, I dont know!
To me, the 20-minute work sessions followed by 30-minute breaks over 4 cycles before a long break looks identical to the Pomodoro technique, just with different timing. The usage differs, though, so I'd suggest building in a Pomodoro timer as well. Additionally, it would be helpful to enable the Pomodoro settings during specific periods (similar to the office hours feature) whilst keeping the original settings active for the remaining time, or the other way round.
I dont know about this. this feels like bloat to me. there are so many other apps to do pomo timers.
I am already using lookaway as pomodoro. I see no reason to make it more complicated by trying to interleave a similar timing mechanism that would somehow interleave with this one. I would be strongly against polluting the app with pomodoro concept, when it can already be used like that. Who wants a dedicated pomodoro functionality should better use a separate thing, that will also support the other milestones of pomodoro technique.
