Configuration option to start screensaver instead of locking when pressing Lock button

My Mac is configured to "Require password after screen saver begins or display is turned off" -> "Immediately". Thus, for me, starting the screensaver is effectively the same as locking the device. However, the benefit of the screensaver is that it keeps the (external) displays on. Whereas locking turns them off. When I then come back, turning the displays back on takes a while and is a little janky. Hence, I would like the button to start the screensaver instead of locking.
